Hyundai Files Trademark Infringement Lawsuit

According to the news source Toledoblade.com, the company responsible for the distribution of Hyundai automobiles in the U.S. has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against one of its former dealers in Ohio. The lawsuit accuses the dealer of improperly using the Hyundai logo and trademarks in advertising campaigns.

The lawsuit was filed by Hyundai Motor America in U.S. District Court in Toledo against the dealership, Brown Motor Sales Company, and the owner of the dealership, Robb Brown. According to the trademark infringement lawsuit, Brown advertised Hyundai services after he was no longer authorized to do so.

Brown's franchise license was terminated by Hyundai last year when the car maker rescinded his authorization to continue warranty work. As a result of the termination, Hyundai stopped providing Brown's dealership with vehicles to sell.
