A: Franchise compliance programs are business and legal procedures and systems typically designed by a franchise lawyer with the assistance and input of the franchisor.  Franchise compliance programs are designed to ensure compliance with federal and state franchise laws and typically focus on (a) preparation and maintenance of a current and updated franchise disclosure document, (b) documentation and enforcement of franchise sales processes and rules to be followed by the franchisor's employees, (c) maintenance of registered trademarks and (d) development and maintenance of a current operations manual that is consistent with the representations and obligations set forth in the franchise agreement.
