His extensive experience serving as in-house counsel for major franchise organizations and as a franchise business owner provides clients with practical, business-focused guidance grounded in real-world franchise operations.

He also co-owned a franchise company, Athena North America. These experiences allow him to provide practical, business-oriented solutions to the complex legal and operational challenges franchise brands face throughout their growth journey.
Deven is a frequent contributor to the franchise community and has presented at the ABA Forum on Franchising. He has also authored articles for the American Association of Corporate Counsel, Franchising World, and numerous franchise industry publications and blogs.
Deven earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Muhlenberg College and his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
Today, Deven works closely with franchise leadership teams to build franchise systems that are legally compliant, operationally sound, and positioned for long-term growth. His unique perspective as both franchise counsel and franchise business owner enables him to help clients navigate challenges with practical solutions that support business objectives while protecting the brand.
